0:21 thank you very much everyone it’s a great honor to be with the president of 0:26 South Africa President Remiposa and uh 0:32 he is a man who is certainly in some circles really respected other circles a 0:38 little bit less respected like all of us in all fairness like all of us we all like that we also have a few of my 0:43 friends ernie is a great golfer he’s a truly great golfer ratif Gusen who’s an 0:50 other really we call him really a great golfer too Ernie right the you two guys are fantastic and we could add Gary to 0:57 the group Gary player what a group of golfers South Africa’s had on there must be something in the water right some of 1:04 the good these two guys are the water set Gary uh Gary’s Gary and David Frost 1:11 also another one that I know is is such a great one was he was he as good a putter as they say David he’s a putter 1:18 he’s a putting machine right but he’s another one so something very good about South Africa and golf and golf is still 1:25 doing great in South Africa and they have young players I hear coming up that are going to be very good but it’s an 1:30 honor to have you here and uh my friend it’s an honor to have you one of the greatest businessmen in uh South Africa 1:38 and long and long beyond thank you for being here it’s very very great honor appreciate it so we’re going to be 1:45 discussing certain things as you know we have the G20 is going to South Africa 1:52 when is that going to be in November in November thereafter i hand over to you and yes we 1:59 have it next year you originated the G20 so I’ll hand over the beta to you and then you lead the G20 we’re going to 2:07 have it we’re going to have it the following year yeah uh so we’ll be discussing many things and some of the 2:12 things you’ve been reading about in the papers and yes the media and uh I would say that look the the president is 2:21 uh a truly respected man in many many circles and in some circles he’s considered a little controversial but uh 2:28 we’re going to be discussing some of the things that are taking place in South Africa and see if we can help and we 2:36 want to help and we’ve had a long relationship with South Africa i have because indirectly I have so many 2:42 friends that live there i have a lot of friends i mean these are famous guys but I have a lot of uh friends that live 2:48 there that are tremendous people and we’ll be discussing that we’ll have a 2:53 nice conversation and I I really appreciate that you guys came along it’s really it really helps us in our thought 3:01 process uh but it is a great honor to have you and I appreciate you called you he called i don’t know where he got my 3:06 number but I picked up he said “I want to come over and see you.” That was my honor and thank you 3:13 very much for being here you’re most welcome well thank you very much for welcoming us to this reformed uh White 3:21 House i’ve been here before and it looks really fantastic i must congratulate you 3:27 thank you but I also thank you for allowing our delegation this is a very mixed delegation that you’ve got we’ve 3:34 got people from government my ministers i’ve got someone from the trade union 3:39 movement who we really collaborate with and from business as well and our 3:45 sporting legends when I spoke to you you said yes come along and bring Gary 3:51 player bring any else and 3:57 retif I spoke to him and he said “Look I’m getting rather on in my years but 4:04 wishes us luck in this uh discussion with you so it’s a real joy and I’d also 4:11 like to thank you for allowing your people to start discussions with us at 4:16 the trade level i mean we are essentially here to reset the relationship between the United States 4:23 and South Africa we are long long-standing partners in many many ways 4:30 we’ve collaborated in many fields uh in space issues in energy and in trade and 4:37 we therefore need to reset that particularly in the light of some of the announcements that you made on on trade 4:45 and investments so we want to advance more trade between the two of us two 4:50 countries and our people uh now have been empowered by yourself and by myself 4:56 to start engaging and we hope that you will be able to fuel that engagement 5:02 during our our talks and we also want to discuss issues that have to do with how 5:08 we promote further investments in both countries we’ve got about 22 companies 5:14 from South Africa that have invested in the US that’s creating a number of jobs 5:19 and similarly you’ve got almost 600 companies that have invested in South 5:24 Africa and some of them have been in South Africa for more than aundred years that’s true so our links are are really 5:32 longlasting and we would like to recalibrate those relations between our 5:38 two countries and discuss a whole range of issues geopolitical the work that you’re doing to bring peace around the 5:45 world uh in Ukraine and in the Middle East so we value that and we are also a 5:51 great contributor to peace processes that are going on around the world and of course we want to discuss how we can 5:58 support each other you are a much bigger economy than we are we are just a tiny 6:05 economy but we rely on each other on a number of issues we’ve got critical 6:10 minerals that you want to fuel the growth of your own economy and 6:16 re-industrialize so we have that on offer including rare earth minerals so 6:22 all that combination of opportunity and the products that we buy from you uh as well 6:30 as what we sell to you I believe makes up a really good and powerful 6:35 relationship which we need to strengthen which we need to engender and that is really what has brought us here and we 6:43 are really privileged to have you know great South Africans in the mix as you 6:48 said you’d like to see them as well brought brought you a really 6:53 fantastic golf uh book weighs 14 kg oh and it showcases 7:01 the golf courses in our country uh Johan Rupert wrote uh preace so did any and I 7:10 want to showcase our golf courses you might remember when I spoke to 7:16 you and we spoke about golf you said I should start practicing and I’ve started 7:21 practicing president so I’m ready uh but let me end just the introductory remarks 7:28 by thanking you you may not recall that five years ago I spoke to you during the 7:34 COVID period right and it was at a time when the whole world was going through a 7:40 really cathartic moment right and we asked for assistance and you were able to assist us with respirator 7:51 respirators respirators respirators and you kept to your word and you delivered respirators 7:58 to us we didn’t have as many in our country and it really helped uh to deal 8:05 to help us deal with COVID so I’m here also to say thank you and to thank the 8:11 people of America for having helped us during a really difficult time being the 8:17 small economy that we are we needed help from around the world and you were there 8:22 to provide that so thank you very much i remember the call we sent 150 8:27 respirators we became uh the respirator king we started making them nobody had 8:33 them we had very few of them that’s right but they were very helpful but we sent 150 and then Yeah and I appreciated 8:39 the letter you wrote me a letter and That’s right yeah thank appreciate that very much thank you very much for that 8:44 it really touched my heart after I spoke spoke to you and you delivered great 8:50 honor thank you very much indeed yeah any questions please Mr president you welcome white African refugees here can 8:56 you explain to Americans why it’s appropriate to welcome white Africaners here when other refugees like Afghans 9:04 uh Venezuelans Haitians have all had their protective status revoked well 9:10 this is a group NBC that is truly fake news they ask a lot of questions in a 9:16 very pointed way they’re not questions their statements uh we’ve had tremendous 9:21 complaints about Africa about other countries too from people they say 9:26 there’s a lot of bad things going on in Africa and that’s what we’re going to be discussing today uh when you say we 9:33 don’t take others all you have to do is take a look at the southern border we let 21 million people come through our 9:38 border totally unchecked totally unvetted they came from all over the world in many cases they’re criminals 9:45 they come from prisons they come from mental institutions they come from street gangs they’re drug dealers uh so 9:51 don’t say that we didn’t take them we’re taking we’re trying to get them out as fast as we can and we’re doing record 9:56 business on that and we just won a big case where we’re allowed to send back hundreds of criminals uh to Venezuela 10:04 just won that today in the Supreme Court i’m happy to hear but uh we do have a 10:10 lot of a lot of people are very concerned with regard to South Africa and that’s 10:16 really the purpose of the meeting and we’ll see how that turns out but we have many people that feel they’re being 10:22 persecuted and they’re coming to the United States so we take from many many locations if we feel there’s persecution 10:29 or genocide going on and uh we had a lot of people I must tell you Mr president 10:36 we have had a tremendous number of people especially since they’ve seen this uh generally they’re white farmers 10:44 and they’re fleeing South Africa and it’s a you know it’s a very sad thing to see but uh I hope we can have an 10:51 explanation of that because I know you don’t want that and uh it’s you know it’s a kind of a 10:58 different meeting normally we have meetings we talk about trade and we’ll be talking about trade and other things 11:03 but that certainly will be a subject that comes comes up yeah 11:08 please thank you very much i’d like to get your thoughts on Leticia James director Ptech 11:14 according to him Leticia James says that the alleged mortgage fraud was simply a 11:20 mistake uh want to get your thoughts on that she put down that her her father 11:26 was her husband and in order and this is very similar to I guess the false attacks they had on him well I don’t 11:33 know what it is currently but Leticia James who’s the attorney general of New York State uh it seemed I’m not involved 11:39 in that at all i know there it’s being handled by various groups I guess but 11:44 it’s it’s major fraud uh mortgage documents and uh fraudulent 11:51 everything i think she said the father was her husband which she had to have a husband or so she chose her father and 11:59 she put it down and she had had uh didn’t she sign in Virginia yet she she 12:05 said she lived in Virginia yet she’s the New York state attorney general and she did that for tax reasons so she could 12:12 take advantage of taxes and she had the wrong number of units she had a much different number which wouldn’t have 12:19 allowed her to qualify and scam the government so I don’t know i think she’s very bad for New York but I really don’t 12:25 know too much about it but I appreciate the question thank you very much 12:31 mr genocide please thank you Mr president so May 25th will be the 12:39 celebration of Africa day which pretty much a lot of celebration will be taking 12:44 place around the world including here in the United States what is your message to the entire African continent African 12:51 people in this important occasion well I want to see peace and I want to see happiness i want to see health and you 12:58 know you have incredible land is tremendous value a lot of countries don’t have that value in the land the 13:04 value you have you know we have a situation i think you probably heard about it we’ve uh done through some very 13:11 talented people help settle a war that’s been raging for years rwanda and the 13:18 Congo and I think we’ve done it believe it or not I think we’ve done it and uh I 13:23 could you just say a few words about that my friend yes uh a couple of weeks ago we signed they signed the two 13:30 parties signed a declaration of principles in which they’ve agreed on the way forward and we’re they have both 13:36 submitted uh draft peace agreements and we we have 13:42 put together one that incorporates both of their suggestions and we’ve given it 13:48 to them so we’re in the process of finalizing looking very good no we have to thank you for even those efforts 13:56 because the African continent particularly Saddak our southern African development community has for years been 14:03 seeking to foster peace in the Democratic Republic of the Congo so all 14:09 efforts including those from outside the continent and inside the continent are 14:15 really worthwhile we have just we are rem removing our troops from there so 14:21 that peace can then prevail in that whole area and uh we hope that with the 14:28 support of the international community uh we will really have peace in that area it’s so vital so important for the 14:36 whole region well we sent our people there uh and uh I think we did a very 14:41 good job i sent it by my friend and that was great that was great i mean I’m just hearing phenomenal reports because all 14:48 I’m hearing is death death and chopping heads off and it’s horrible over there and uh it was really brave of you to go 14:56 there and I really appreciate it and it looks like that it looks like we have something very very substantial we also 15:03 talked about trade with them in terms of rare earth and all but really more for 15:09 the it’s like uh if you take a look at what we just did with Pakistan and India 15:14 we settled that whole thing and I think I settled it through trade we’re doing a 15:20 big deal with uh India we’re doing a big deal with Pakistan and I said what are you guys doing you know they somebody 15:27 had to be the last one to shoot but the shooting was getting worse and worse bigger and bigger deeper and deeper into 15:33 the countries and uh we spoke to them and we I think we you know I hate to say 15:38 we got it settled and then two days later something happens and they say it’s Trump’s fault but uh we Pakistan is 15:46 got some excellent people and some really good a great leader and India is 15:53 my friend Modi Modi and he’s a mutual friend yeah he’s a great guy and I 15:59 called him both and we we just uh did something good we uh were trying to settle Russia Ukraine we spoke with 16:08 President Putin for two and a half hours the day before yesterday i think we made a lot of progress but that’s a bloodbath 16:14 5,000 people are being killed a week 5,000 soldiers a week not including people in cities and towns that are also 16:22 being killed so we’re trying to help and it doesn’t affect us it’s not our people it’s not our soldiers it’s not our It’s 16:29 Ukraine and it’s Russia but if we can save 5,000 souls we’ll do it you know 16:34 we’re pretty good at it but it’s a that’s a bad situation that is a really bad situation well you’d recall when 16:41 President Zalinski was coming to South Africa that’s when I spoke to you that’s right we both agreed that we need to 16:47 push the peace message so that there can be a little bit peace and we’ve been involved uh in the Ukraine Russia 16:54 conflict for quite a while to my minister of state security here we’ve been dealing with them the exchange of 17:01 children who were taken away going through names and addresses and all that 17:07 so we’ve been invested in that whole process as well and the moves that you 17:12 are making are fully supported by us because we would like to see the end of that war true i called Zalinski and they 17:20 said he’s in South Africa i said “What the hell is he doing in South Africa 17:25 he was talking to us we got this week i said that’s a strange one i said I said what are you doing in South Africa 17:32 that’s a strange one he’s trying to make peace we taking you know we were we were lucky 17:39 because we had the great Nelson Mandela who taught us how to create peace to 17:45 make peace so we were imparting some of those lessons to him some of those 17:50 learnings and I specifically mentioned to him that this is how Nelson Manella 17:56 taught us uh that when you want to have a peace in a country do it on an 18:02 unconditional basis and sit down and talk and that’s precisely what I’m sure 18:07 he’s going to hear well we’re going to see what happens with that one it’s a lot of there’s a lot of hatred there’s a 18:12 lot of uh a lot of death it’s a blood bath it is i get the unfortunately I get 18:18 the uh satellite pictures of that field of that killing field you never saw 18:23 anything like it in your life it’s horrible it’s a horrible thing that it goes on but I think we’ve made big 18:29 progress 18:34 please go ahead thank you Mr president no no not you right here he’s from South 18:40 Africa go ahead please what are you expecting on the ICJKs are you expecting 18:45 South Africa to drop that is that what you’re trying to raise which case the ICJ case against Israel international 18:51 criminal court uh I don’t expect anything to be honest i really don’t i don’t know it’s they’ve got uh a case 19:00 there’s a lot of anger there tremendous anger i don’t expect anything we’ll see what happens we’ll have a ruling and who 19:07 knows what the ruling is going to mean yeah on that subject of Gaza um Mr mr president are you going to be speaking 19:13 to uh Prime Minister Netanyahu about Israel’s renewed offensive there there’s been a lot of concern from European 19:19 countries the Pope has expressed concern are you going to be asking Prime Minister Netanyahu to tone down the 19:25 offensive in Gaza to let more aid in was that a question or a statement question 19:31 you never change mr president decide what will it take from you for you to be convinced that there’s no white genocide 19:37 in South Africa well I can answer that for the president it’s for him seriously I’d 19:45 rather have him answer yeah I know the answer it will be my president will respond to you thank you Mr president it 19:52 will take President Trump listening to the voices of South Africans some of 19:59 whom are his good friends like those who are here when we have talks between us 20:05 or the quiet at a quiet table it will take President Trump to listen to them i’m not going to be repeating what I’ve 20:12 been saying i would say if there was Africana farmer genocide I can bet you 20:20 these three gentlemen would not be here including my minister of agriculture he 20:25 would not be with me so it will take him President Trump listening to their 20:31 stories to their perspective that is the answer to your question but Mr president 20:37 I must say that we have No no wait uh we have thousands of stories talking about 20:44 it and we have documentaries we have news stories on that is Natalie here 20:51 somebody here to turn that i could show you a couple of things and I would I 20:56 just I have to it has to be responded to sure we have Let me see the articles 21:01 please if you would and turn Excuse me turn the lights down turn the lights down and just put this on it’s right 21:09 behind you Johan there’s nothing this parliament can do with or without you 21:15 people are going to occupy land we require no permission from you from the 21:21 president from no one we don’t care we can do whatever you want to do who are 21:26 you to tell us whether we can occupy land or not we are going to occupy land south Africa occupy land that’s who we 21:34 are whatever you want to do I can withdraw my membership from this ruthless parliament honorable 21:41 yes honorable member must never be scared to kill a revolution demand that at some 21:50 point there must be killing because the killing is part of a revolutionary act 21:56 shoot to kill kill the poor the 22:03 former kill the poor the former blue 22:10 car blue 22:18 [Music] [Applause] 22:24 car the mayor of DA in P is a white man 22:30 so these people when you want to hit them hard go after a white man they feel 22:37 a terrible pain because you have touched a white 22:42 man not because Maba and will not be touched they will be touched don’t worry 22:49 but we are starting with this whiteness we are cutting the throat of 22:55 whess to kill good the brewer the 23:02 farmer good the brewer the 23:12 farmer shoot to [Applause] kill kill the poor 23:19 the kill the poor the burn 23:26 [Applause] 23:32 i don’t know what’s in the future i’m saying you was not for the killing of 23:38 white people at least for now yeah but I mean you’d understand 23:43 somebody watching that especially as it gets shared on Twitter they freak out it sounds like a genocidal 23:52 [Music] 24:03 over [Music] 24:26 who will expropriate land without compensation whether they like it or not if they object they can seek a refugee 24:34 in America now this is very bad these are the these 24:41 are burial sites right here burial 24:46 sites over a thousand of white farmers and those cars 24:52 are lined up to pay love on a Sunday morning each one of those white things you see is 25:00 across and there’s approximately a thousand of them they’re all white farmers the 25:07 family of white farmers and those cars aren’t uh driving they’re stopped there 25:13 to pay respects to their family member who’s killed uh and it’s a terrible 25:19 sight i’ve never seen anything like it both sides of the road you have 25:25 crosses 25:35 where is those people are all killed have they told you where that is Mr 25:40 president no i’d like to know where that is because this I’ve never seen 25:48 i don’t okay i mean it’s in South Africa that’s 25:53 we need to find out 26:08 i don’t know 26:19 okay Mr president the Pentagon announced that it would be accepting a Qatari jet to be used as Air Force One perhaps 26:30 mr president the Pentagon what does this have to do with the Qatari jet they’re 26:36 giving the United States Air Force a jet okay and it’s a great thing we’re talking about a lot of other things it’s 26:43 NBC trying to get off the subject of what you just saw you are a real you know you’re a terrible reporter number 26:49 one you you don’t have what it takes to be a reporter you’re not smart enough but for you to go onto a subject about a 26:55 a jet that was given to the United States Air Force which was a very nice thing they also gave 5.1 trillion 27:02 dollars worth of investment in addition to the jet go back you ought to go back 27:08 to your studio at NBC because Brian Roberts and the people that run that place they ought to be investigated they 27:16 are so terrible the way you run that network and you’re a disgrace no more questions go ahead 27:25 go ahead talk about that his name we have a South African his name is Peter he’s a terrible if they’re committing genocide why invite him to the White 27:32 House i’ll be quiet sure that’s my question now let’s go thank you so much President Trump and it’s the last one 27:37 from ENCA in South Africa thank you very much for hosting us uh what would you like President Ramapora to do about the 27:44 situation you’ve just seen on the screen i don’t know uh all look these are 27:50 articles over the last few days uh death of 27:56 people death death death horrible death 28:04 death i don’t know but you know that people white South Africans are fleeing 28:10 because of the violence and racist laws and this is all I mean I’ll give 28:16 these to you so when you when you say what would I like to do i don’t know what to do look at this white South 28:22 African couples say that they were attacked violently when will you go and see where your soft 28:29 is well I could do that look here’s burial sites all over the place they’re all These are all white farmers that are 28:34 being buried but he asks about a jet that was given they’re not interested in the You 28:41 are so bad you’re such a bad reporter they’re committing genocide why invite them they are committing genocide why 28:46 invite us out why not finish president Trump mr president this is one after 28:52 another this family was wiped out i just I’m just looking can we 28:58 get us your reaction to those videos Mr president Trump well I think it’s I 29:03 think the videos are so white no no when you look at the videos I mean how does 29:08 it get worse and these are people that are officials and they’re saying that kill the white farmer and take their 29:14 land that’s what it is and I have other friends in South Africa have people that 29:20 left one in particular that says it’s you you can’t go there he said they want 29:25 to take your land they take your land and they kill you it’s okay and they say 29:30 it’s okay to do now I we we’re going to talk about it but this is a tremendous look this is story recent these are all 29:37 people that recently got killed and I don’t know how it can get any 29:42 worse she’s okay and you know the man that you saw the 29:47 men that you saw the people that you saw in that movie those are officials those are people that were in office they had 29:55 one march they had a dance in your parliament whatever you may call it 30:00 legislature let me clarify that let me clarify that because what you saw the 30:05 speeches that were being made one that is not government policy we have a 30:11 multi-party democracy in South Africa that allows people to express themselves 30:17 political parties to adhere to various policies and in many cases or in some 30:24 cases those policies do not go along with government policy our government 30:31 policy is completely completely against what he was saying even in the 30:39 parliament and they a small minority party which is allowed to exist in terms 30:45 of our constitution but you do allow them to take land no no no you do allow 30:51 them to take land nobody can take and then when they take the land they kill the white farmer and when they kill the 30:57 white farmer nothing happens to them no there is quite nothing happens to them there is criminality in our 31:04 country people who do get killed unfortunately through criminal activity 31:11 are not only white people majority of them are black people and we have now 31:16 the farmers are not black the farmers are not black i don’t say that’s good or bad but the farmers are not black and 31:22 the people that are being killed in large numbers and you saw all those grave sites and those are people that 31:30 loved ones going I guess on a Sunday morning they told me to pay respect to their loved ones that were killed their 31:36 heads chopped off their they died died violently and you know I mean we’re here 31:43 to talk about it and I didn’t know we’d get involved here but I will say this 31:48 that if the news wasn’t fake like NBC which is fake news totally one of the worst abc NBC CBS horrible but if they 31:57 weren’t fake news like this jerk uh that we have here if we had real reporters 32:02 they’d be covering it but the fake news in this country doesn’t talk about that 32:08 they don’t want to talk about it but now they have to talk about it but they won’t this won’t even be a subject 32:14 they’ll have him talking about why did uh a country give a free think of this 32:20 why did a country give an airplane to the United States Air Force okay the United States not to me to the United 32:28 States Air Force so they could help us out because we need an Air Force One 32:33 until our that’s Air Force One it’s being built two of them being built but Boeing’s a little bit late unfortunately 32:40 so why did they give us a plane to the United States Air Force that’s what that idiot talks about after viewing a thing 32:46 where thousands of people are dead i’m sorry i don’t have a plane to give you i would I wish you did i take it i would 32:54 take it if your country offered the United States Air Force a plane I would take it okay but coming back to to this 33:01 issue which I really would like us to talk about and talk about it very calmly 33:07 we were taught by Nelson Mandela that whenever there are problems people need 33:12 to sit down around a table and talk about them well there and this is precisely what we would also talk like 33:19 to talk about including of course trade matters investment matters so the issues 33:24 that concern you as the United States those are all recent and those are all deaths yeah in many ways I mean one one 33:32 should say you are a partner partner of South Africa and you are raising 33:38 concerns and these are concerns that we are willing to talk to you about let me 33:44 just add quickly you know the criminality that we are expect 33:50 experiencing in our country needs quite a lot of technological uh capability and uh in one of our areas 33:59 in in South Africa we’re using US technology which is able to in many ways 34:05 identify where shootings are happening and all that and I’d like to talk about that because there is support that we 34:12 can get from you as the United States to help us deal with all these acts of 34:18 criminality and that is what I believe partnership is all about and we are here 34:23 as a partner so that we can help each other uh whenever there are challenges 34:29 so I’d like us to discuss it and of course outside of the media so that we sit down and have a really good 34:37 discussion that will lead to good outcomes 34:44 are there any other further punitive measures that could be in place should you not be satisfied that South Africa 34:50 is fixing some of the very bad things in the vertical comments that you tweeted are happening 34:56 well there are a lot of bad things happening in you know many countries but this in particular has been very very 35:03 bad very bad and because of you know we’re going to whole have the whole world watching in another short period 35:09 of time because you have the G20 and that’s a big deal and it seems it seems 35:15 like I mean I want you to look good i I don’t want you to look bad very good but 35:21 you we have hundreds of people thousands of people trying to come into our country because they feel they’re going to be killed and their land is going to 35:28 be confiscated and you do have laws that were passed that gives you the right to confiscate land for no payment you can 35:34 take away land for no payment i want to clarify that because we have a constitution our 35:40 constitution guarantees and protects the sanctity of tenure of land ownership and 35:48 that constitution protects all South Africans with regards to land ownership 35:54 however we do say because we’ve got to deal with the past the government and as 36:00 your government also has the right to expropriate land for public use and 36:05 you’re doing that and uh but we we’ve never really gotten underway with that 36:10 and we we are going to be doing that you’re taking you’re taking people’s land away we have not from them and 36:17 those people in many cases are being executed they’re being executed and they happen to be white and most of them 36:24 happen to be farmers and that’s a tough situation i don’t know how you explain that how do you explain that they’re 36:31 taking people’s land away and in many cases those people are being executed and in many cases it’s not the 36:37 government that’s suing it’s people that kill them and then take their land and nothing happens to them but we have 36:44 thousands of people that want to come into our country they’re also going to Australia in a smaller number but we 36:50 have thousands of people that want to come into our country and they’re white farmers and they feel that uh they’re 36:57 going to die in South Africa and it’s a bad thing yeah 37:04 g20 what can South Africa do what concessions would you like to see them make to uh improve relations with the 37:11 United States then I have one more for President Ronaldos afterwards well you know we just spoke about I got them a 37:17 very very complex machine 150 of them and I was asked by the president if it 37:23 could help and I did that and uh you know I have great feeling for all countries i look I deal with all 37:30 countries uh but I have a great feeling for South Africa because I have friends i have a couple of friends a few friends 37:36 here today i have many friends from South Africa but many of those friends are uh are not they can’t go back i have 37:45 Elon is from South Africa i don’t want to get Elon involved that’s all I have to do get him into another thing but 37:52 Elon happens to be from South Africa this is what Elon wanted he actually came here on a different subject sending 37:59 rockets to Mars okay he likes that better he likes that subject better but Elon is from South Africa and I I don’t 38:06 want to talk to him about that i don’t want to I don’t think it’s fair to him that’s right but I will say that uh 38:12 people are fleeing South Africa for their own safety their land is being confiscated and in many cases they’re 38:19 being killed and that scene of you see how many crosses they have those crosses 38:25 that’s a dead person in every one of them and those trucks or cars are paying 38:30 their respects to all of those dead people on a Sunday morning that’s a that’s a rough that’s a rough thing to 38:36 explain away and the problem we have and and the way 38:41 you know a correct and a fair media exposes things but we have a very 38:48 corrupt media they won’t even report this if this were the other way around 38:53 it would be the biggest story now I will say apartheid terrible that was the biggest threat that was reported all the 38:59 time this is sort of the opposite of apartheid uh what’s happening now is 39:05 never reported nobody knows about it all we know is we’re being inundated with people with white farmers 39:12 from South Africa and uh it’s a big problem marco Rubio was telling me he’s 39:17 never seen anything like it the the numbers of people that want to leave South Africa because they feel they’re 39:23 going to be dead very soon yes I was going to say if I could just ask you a question 39:28 72% of farmers in your country are white if they flee do you feel that maybe the 39:35 economy could collapse you may not have a gap to fill in those um people that need to replace those farmers you know 39:41 I’d like my Minister of Agriculture uh who is white who comes from an 39:48 opposition party to mine who’s joined my government at my 39:54 invitation to address some uh this very issue including the question that you’ve 40:00 just raised John thank you very much Mr president and Mr president thank you for welcoming us to the White House i would 40:07 say we have a rural safety problem in South Africa and I don’t think anyone wants to candy coat that and it requires 40:13 a lot of effort to get on top of it it’s going to require more policing resources it’s going to require a different strategy to be able to deal with it but 40:20 certainly the majority of South Africa’s uh commercial and small holder farmers um really do want to stay in South 40:27 Africa and make it work and I’ve just come from the largest agricultural show in the southern hemisphere with 40:32 organized agriculture and farmers and the majority of them want to stay but they too there have a memorial to those 40:38 who’ve died as a result of farm attacks and as the minister of agriculture it is 40:44 something that I am particularly exercised with my colleagues at police and my colleagues in the justice cluster 40:51 to stop making farm attacks and stock theft a priority crime and it affects 40:56 all farmers in South Africa particularly stock theft it has a disproportionate effect on small holder black farmers i 41:02 also want to just say this that the two individuals that are in that video that you’ve seen are both leaders of 41:09 opposition minority parties in South Africa and Konto under Mr zuma and the 41:15 economic freedom fighters under Mr mma now the reason that my party the Democratic Alliance which has been an 41:22 opposition party for over 30 years chose to join hands with Mr ramaporse’s party 41:27 was precisely to keep those people out of power we cannot have those people 41:33 sitting in the union buildings making decisions and that is why after 30 years of us exchanging barbs across the floor 41:40 and parliament and trying to get one over on each other we’ve decided to join hands precisely to keep that lot out of 41:48 government because the day they get in to the doors of the union buildings in South Africa or control of our 41:54 parliament that’s what you’re going to see and that is why this government working together needs the support of 42:01 our allies around the world so that we can strengthen our hand grow our economy and shut the door forever on that rebel 42:08 getting through the doors of the union buildings because then South Africa’s future would be so you denounce that 42:14 type of language in the video that you saw oh yes we’ve always done so as government as my own party we are 42:21 completely opposed to that we in 1955 adopted a document which said South 42:28 Africa belongs to all who live in it but why wouldn’t you arrest that man that 42:34 man said kill the white farmers kill the white farmers and then he danced and he’s dancing dancing and it’s kill the 42:41 white farmers i think I’m not sure but I think if somebody got up in parliament and started saying kill a certain group 42:49 of people that he would be in he would be arrested very quickly that man is 42:55 going all over South Africa and that’s not a small party that was a stadium that holds a 100,000 people and I hardly 43:03 saw an empty seat that’s a lot of people that’s a lot of representation and those 43:09 crosses we have dead white people dead white farmers mostly uh and you take a 43:15 look at Australia they’re being inundated and we’re being inundated with people that want to get out and their 43:21 farm is valueless it’s valueless and they just want to get out with their 43:27 life and it this is a very serious situation and if we had a real news or 43:34 real press or media we don’t have that because they won’t talk about this because they’re all guys like that idiot 43:41 but if we had a real press it would be exposed and you know the beauty of exposing it is it’s like a cleansing 43:47 action when it gets exposed it’ll get fixed that’s when it’ll get fixed but people don’t talk about it and I I’ll 43:53 tell you who’s talking about the thousands of people that are fleeing South Africa right now [Music] 44:02 will you discuss discuss USA and the devastating impact the cuts are having across the African continent yeah well 44:09 it’s uh it’s devastating and hopefully a lot of people are going to start spending a lot of money uh and I I’ve 44:17 talked to other nations we want them to chip in and spend money too and we’ve spent a lot and it’s a big it’s it’s a 44:25 tremendous problem going on in many countries a lot of problems going on the United States always gets uh the request 44:33 for money nobody else helps as you know Europe doesn’t help europe hasn’t given anything all they do is sue our 44:40 companies you know they sue Apple and they sue all of our companies apple had 44:45 to pay 17 billion dollars on a nonsense lawsuit very unfair but we uh we’re 44:51 going to always be there to help right south African broadcasting if 44:58 this issue is resolved we’re going to go into a room after this you guys are going to talk if it is resolved what is 45:04 the potential for the future looking relationship it’s fantastic it’s got to be resolved it should be resolved i mean 45:10 it’s it’s a little bit bad when you see a stadium with 100,000 people in it because that means it’s more than just a 45:17 little movement it’s a pretty big movement in South Africa so it has to be resolved it’ll be the end of the country 45:23 if it’s not potential for the relationship moving forward i hope so that’s why I’m here i mean I’m not here 45:29 for my health i’m here to see what No I’d like to see I have friends i I can 45:35 tell you Ernie and Ratif Gusen they feel so strongly they wanted to be here on 45:40 behalf of South Africa not on behalf of me and you know they said “Can we be here for this?” because they love the 45:48 country ernie do you guys want to say a couple of words or anything i don’t I hate to put you in this this is tougher 45:54 than sinking a three-footer they have and they’ve sank 46:00 many three-footers thank you Mr president and thanks for the honor of 46:06 being here we’ve known each other a long time uh we have spoken um you know we’re 46:14 proud South Africans i still have my South African passport you know we we travel with this passport you know and I 46:22 got my visa here so um you know but we want to see things u get better in our 46:28 home country and that’s the bottom line it’s been 35 years u since the 46:34 transition president Remaposa was right in the middle of the transition time in 46:40 1990 and before that um so it’s been 35 years of of ANC 46:47 government um and I’m and I know there’s a there’s a lot of anger you know through the 46:54 transition there’s always a lot of stuff happening in the apartheite days you know we grew up in the apartheite 47:01 era um but I don’t think two wrongs makes a 47:06 right you know um President Mandela when he came out of prison for all that time didn’t come out 47:14 with hatred you know and um really unified our our nation through 47:22 sport you know we won the Rugby World Cup in the 95 four times we won the 47:29 African Nations Cup our soccer you know we won some majors as golfers and so 47:34 forth um so what I’m trying to say is you know we it this has been a long time coming 47:42 um that’s why we really wanted to meet you administration 47:48 and see our way forward because we still want to see our country flourish you know we got some great things going on 47:55 business is getting involved with with government um farming farmers are getting involved 48:02 in local municipalities trying to rebuild some of the infrastructure that’s been decaying for a long time um 48:10 so there’s a lot of uh co-existence going on and and help from 48:16 a lot of areas but we need I feel we need the US um to push this thing 48:23 through um we’ve got a great ally if we can have the US has always been an ally 48:30 of of South Africa for a very long time um even in the days of the of the war 48:36 you know up in Angola you know you guys helped us so um very important for us to 48:43 to have your support and u you know get the change we need where did you do that 48:48 well he might have done that even better than 48:55 he plays golf which is almost which is almost impossible uh Johan please mr 49:01 president if you had to wind all of those tapes properly you 49:08 will see I’m the biggest target of that rebel rouser number one for over 10 years Mr 49:16 ma in fact the first time I met him he was in the youth league with that 49:23 gentleman and look how he’s changed right we have too many deaths but it’s across 49:30 the board it’s not only white farmers it’s across the board and we need 49:37 technological help we need Starlink at every little police station we need 49:44 drones i actually got drones donated for the peace parks to 49:52 stop elephant and rhino poaching and his predecessor stopped the importation 49:59 because he said the United States would spy on us i mean you as basics the 50:06 ridicule so if we can if you can help us remember sir you and I lived in New York 50:13 in the 70s we never thought New York could be what it became two 50:18 commissioners a tough mayor we need your help to stop this 50:24 awful killing but it’s across the board ernie is right now building a play a 50:30 house in George i’m building three cottages for my grandchildren on a farm 50:37 outside i often go to bed without locking the door and we have a serious 50:43 problem with illegal aliens who stream across the border and 50:48 if you really look at our statistics a lot of these murders firstly it’s 50:56 unemployment and and illegal aliens and then I met Vice President Vz many years 51:05 ago at Charlie Rose show and my wife loved his 51:12 book and she reminded me this morning that you emphasized the devastation that occurs 51:19 when big companies leave towns and cities and there’s a culture of 51:26 dependency that develops i remember you discussing it now that’s 51:32 our problem if we don’t get our economy to grow the culture of dependency and 51:38 the lawlessness will increase i’ve been against the pat all my life and I’m 51:45 their number one target please just Google my name and mma 51:51 you’ll see it sir uh he marched on the front but the crime is bad the crime is terrible sir but Mr 51:59 steason won’t admit to it but he runs the Western Cape where I live and the 52:05 biggest murder rate is in the Cape Flats gangs we’ve got gang warfare like 52:13 your M33 whatever these guys we’ve got equivalents there but we need your help 52:21 sir and we need Elon technology well one of the real areas of of support is 52:28 really in investments we’ve got to grow our economy because through growing the 52:33 economy we’re then able to create more jobs because crime really thrives where 52:41 there is inequality and unemployment and that is one of the reasons that has 52:47 brought us here to improve our investment relations our trade relations 52:54 so that we can preserve the number of jobs that your companies have created in 53:00 South Africa by virtue of what we export to you we are able to create up to 53:06 500,000 jobs in the auto industry in the agricultural industry and a number of 53:12 other industries mining where we export things to you and we also know that as 53:19 South African companies invest here you are also able to create jobs so it’s a mutually beneficial relationship so our 53:27 main main real reason for being here is to foster trade and investment so that 53:35 we are able to grow our economy your support and so that we are 53:40 also able to address all these societal problems because criminality thrives when people 53:46 are unemployed when they have no other hope to ek out a living so that is what 53:52 we need to resolve and your support your partnership with us is what is really 53:59 going to give us a strong strong capability to move forward 54:06 excuse me you have anything to say i mean I don’t want to leave you out you know the guy won three or four majors 54:12 three or four no only two two that’s a lot by the way two is a lot a lot of 54:19 tournaments you won too uh do you have anything to say yeah thank you Mr president president Ramapoa i grew up in 54:26 an area in South Africa that is a farmland area Poani and u there is some 54:32 issues up there obviously uh my dad was a property developer as well as a part-time farmer and yes some of his uh 54:41 buddy farmers got killed um the farm is still going my brothers run it but it’s 54:47 a constant battle with farms trying to get they’re trying to burn the farms down to uh chase you away so it is it is 54:55 a concern to try and make a living as a farmer and at the end you know without 55:00 farmers there’s no food on the plate so we need we need the farms your brother loves farming right he wouldn’t do it he 55:06 wouldn’t even want to do what you’re doing right they love farming they don’t want to leave but it’s a it’s a struggle 55:12 yeah and you know food food and fresh water is the most important thing in life you know without those two things 55:18 we can’t survive how is the water there the water is great obviously u 55:24 um all the water comes out of a ball hole out of ground for us down there but yeah it is a battle to get the water 55:31 out sometimes when all the equipment gets stolen all the time that you’re trying to get so does your family and 55:36 your brother do they feel safe on the farm they live behind electric fences you 55:42 know try and be at night uh safe um but it is it is constant whenever you leave that that 55:49 something could happen and uh um there’s no way to live you know both both of them has been attacked in 55:56 their houses my mom’s been attacked in the house when she was 80 so it is it is 56:02 u difficult but you know the guys live a great life despite everything going on 56:10 something president Trump we I brought along the 56:16 president of the largest trade union in our country Ziggy Soloi because she 56:22 leads many many workers uh more than 1 million one and a two million workers 56:28 and maybe we should give her a chance to say something because she’s come all the way uh to join us thank you very much Mr 56:35 president Trump for for having us and President for extending the invitation to us as organized labor and I must say 56:42 that we are here to support the the the the initiative that has been made by our 56:49 our government with business of course as organized labor we’ve been coming to 56:54 Washington on the AOA h trade relations in the previous uh regime and I think at 57:02 the center of it all for me it is exactly what Mr robert have said the the 57:08 the importance of us growing the economy um we have always emphasized when we 57:13 were here kept on coming and negotiating on aa that the 600 US companies that are 57:20 based in South Africa as you said President Ramakosa 500,000 jobs will be wiped out we need more foreign direct 57:27 investment in our country 57:32 u but we are talking about over 40% set of people that are unemployed that have 57:38 have no hope of ever finding job and we think that correctly as they have said 57:44 that we need to deal with the issue of poorest borders in our country so that everyone that comes in is documented we 57:51 also need to and I would have love thought that the minister would address the issue of land expropriation and how 57:58 the policy works in South Africa recently president as you were preparing 58:03 to come here on the news in I think was on Nadal there was um handover of farms 58:11 and white farmers were saying uh we are donating the land but also there’s a 58:19 willing buyer willing seller in South Africa so there is no ex expropriation 58:25 expropriation without compensation but it is a willing buyer willing seller and that white farmer was even saying 58:32 president that they the government is even paying more in buying the land than 58:38 what the land is worth of and I think those are the realities president that 58:44 we must say that we we need to address of course but also the importance of 58:49 agriculture linked to a go uh people rely on it and I think as Ret said for 58:55 for for for survival and and and and and living but lastly for me president is 59:00 also the issue of the crime statistics there is no doubt about it 59:07 that we are a violent nation you know for a number of reasons and we’re not 59:12 condoning anything uh but also if you go into the rural 59:17 areas where black majority are you would see women elderly being raped being 59:25 killed being murdered and these are black elderly women that would be found 59:32 throat slits raped multiple times and all of that and the problem in South 59:37 Africa it is not necessarily about race but it is about crime and we think that we are here to say how do we both 59:44 nations work together to reset to really e talk about investment but also help us 59:52 in how we can have the technology and everything that is needed president to 59:57 to really address the the the the levels of crime that we have in our country thank you very 1:00:06 much genocide genocide is a very strong word i’m wondering if you made up your 1:00:11 mind as to whether you believe genocide is occurring in South Africa or you still have doubts and if you have made up your mind why invite President 1:00:18 Ramaposa here today for this conversation well I haven’t made up my mind i hate to see it uh from the 1:00:23 standpoint of South Africa but also you know I’m trying to save lives i’m working with Russia and Ukraine i don’t 1:00:29 have to do that it’s not our war it was started by other people was helped along 1:00:35 by our past administration and it would have never happened if I were president but I’m trying to save lives no matter 1:00:40 where uh Rwanda I have nothing to do with Rwanda and the Congo but I felt I 1:00:47 had a very talented person in this administration and I sent him there and 1:00:53 he did an unbelievable job I think i mean we’re going to find out but he’s done the hardest part of the job it 1:00:59 should it should happen if I can save lives I want to save the lives if it’s in Africa that’s great if it’s in Europe 1:01:05 if it’s wherever it may be and uh it’s a very small investment to do believe me 1:01:11 compared to what the consequences are so uh I hope we can do something look I 1:01:18 have so many friends these two men I have great admiration for them because I know what they do for a living and that’s a very hard living going from 1:01:26 city to city from country to country and uh hitting a ball 350 yards like they do 1:01:32 uh and uh you and I and getting the ball in the hole it’s a very tough with with 1:01:38 lots of people watching right it’s a very that’s a very tough living and you know they’re champions i respect 1:01:43 champions and I respect very much and I think the country is very lucky they really wanted to be here that’s true 1:01:49 they could be elsewhere they could be on a beautiful fairway someplace and uh they wanted to be here glad you 1:01:59 brought my name from News from Africa in South Africa how important is it for the 1:02:06 United States to be at our G20 summit in November given the relationship between 1:02:12 our two countries you’ve just heard what has been said to you just now are you 1:02:17 coming and are you preparing to come so without the United States the G20 just like the G7 used to be the G8 but 1:02:24 brilliantly they threw Russia out would have been a lot better if Russia was in you know a lot of people would say “Oh 1:02:30 that’s not it.” Because if Russia was in you probably wouldn’t have this war and if you had a different president you 1:02:35 wouldn’t have the war either but we have a G7 it’s important that the United States is at both of them i think 1:02:42 without the United States it’s I I really believe it’s not very important 1:02:47 it’s not it’s not the same meaning as I said to President Trump the the US 1:02:54 really originated the G20 and it’s important uh that the the 1:03:01 United States continues to play a key role in the G20 and uh we are privileged 1:03:07 to be the president of the G20 but we are even overjoyed that we are going to 1:03:13 hand over to the United States who are the originators and uh for that reason I 1:03:20 expect uh the United States to continue playing the leadership role in the G20 1:03:25 together with other countries and I’ve said when I initially spoke to President 1:03:31 Trump on the phone I want him to come to South Africa for a state visit and I 1:03:36 also want him to come and participate in the G20 and I want to gladly hand over 1:03:43 to President Trump to take the leadership of the G20 forward in November thank you very much thank you 1:03:50 very much thank you they don’t want to leave 1:03:57 they like you so much
