35:53 hello a big great speaker 36:09 okay we have a beautiful announcement to make it’s very exciting money is pouring 36:16 in and we want to keep it that way and I think that’s what’s going to happen we 36:22 have a tremendous interest in our country more than ever before there’s 36:27 never been anything like it we’re almost at a $4 trillion doll level and that’s something that’s 36:34 never happened and I think hopefully it’s because of the election on November 5th but it’s also because of tariffs I 36:41 suspect Governor but I’m thrilled to welcome Louisiana governor Jeff Landry a 36:47 friend of mine for a long time and uh to have you at the White House and we thought this was going to 36:53 happen and I said if you get it signed up we’ll do it at the White House and you got to it all done I’m proud of you 36:59 not surprised executive chairman of Hyundai Motor Group Jung Eun thank you 37:05 very much what a great honor Vice chairman J Chang Jay thank you Hyundai 37:12 less difficult for me uh but I 37:30 think we got them right but this one we will definitely get right Mike Johnson our great speaker and he’s been doing a 37:37 real job right Mike it’s an easy job isn’t it House Majority Leader Steve scales 37:47 Steve doing all right Steve I tell you he went through a lot and he’s stronger 37:52 than ever Louisiana speaker philli duvalier thank you very much much thank you very much great honor great to have 38:17 you with us today we’re delighted to report that unai is announcing a major 38:22 $5.8 billion investment in American Manufacturing in particular particular 38:27 Hyundai will be building a brand new steel plant in Louisiana which will produce more than 2.7 million metric 38:34 tons of steel a year creating more than 1,400 jobs for American Steel Workers 38:39 and then there’ll be major expansion after that this will be Hyundai’s first ever steel mill in the United States one 38:46 of the largest companies in the world by the way supplying steel for its Auto Parts and auto plants in Alabama and 38:53 Georgia which will soon produce more than 1 million American made cars every single year cars are coming into this 39:00 country at levels never seen before get ready this investment is a 39:06 clear demonstration that tariffs very strongly work and I hope uh other things 39:12 also but the tariffs are bringing them in at uh levels that uh have not been 39:19 witnessed Hyundai will be producing Steel in America and making its cars in America and as a result they’ll uh not 39:27 have to pay any tariffs you know there are no tariffs if you make your product in America so it’s something that that’s 39:34 why so many people are coming as you know we have from Taiwan the biggest chip manufacturer in the world is coming 39:40 in with 200 billion dollars and we have a lot of lot of people coming and plants 39:47 coming and companies coming that never would have been here never would have even thought about it the new steel 39:53 plant in Louisiana is part of an even larger $21 billion investment hund will be making in the United States over the 39:59 next couple of years the company will also be massively increasing its auto manufacturing in Georgia and investing 40:06 billions of dollars in advanced American technology companies and uh what I’d 40:12 like to do is I’d like to ask the executive chairman to say a few words and it’s a great honor to have Hyundai a 40:18 truly great company thank you very much thank you very 40:25 much um thank you thank you very much uh Mr President uh thank Trump 41:52 alongside Governor Lander and speaker Johnson 41:57 and uh uh leader uh scales um deepening our partnership with 42:04 United States and reinforcing our uh shared vision for American industrial 42:11 leadership and this week we are also proud to open our new8 billion doll o 42:17 plant in Georgia with this our us vehicle production will exceed 1 million units 42:25 per year as president mentioned our decision to invest in Savannah Georgia 42:31 uh creating more than 8,500 American jobs was initiated during my meeting 42:37 with President Trump uh in Soul in 2019 right yeah and uh after that 2020 42:45 in Davos I mentioned about the new plant so American jobs was initiated during uh 42:52 at the time now as we proudly marked the acction of this transform transformative 43:01 project in coinci ins insid with the beginning of President Trump’s second 43:08 term making this moment even more special thank you yeah furthermore HMG 43:15 will purchase uh$ three billion dollar worth of us LG to support America’s 43:22 energy industry and enhance our energy security 43:27 all of these efforts will accelerate the localization of our supply chain in the 43:33 US expand speaker and we have two very good 44:26 friends Mike and you come from a certain state that we’re talking about right now that we love and 44:32 I’ve done very well there I’ve always won by a lot I love that state so I was happy to hear about it that’s why I said 44:38 come on over but Mike would you and Steve like to say a few words please sure thank you Mr President we’re 44:45 excited um it was mentioned earlier what a what a great start we’ve had to your second term and uh we’re just getting 44:50 started everyone should know that there’ll be more of this because it’s the policies that are bringing about the great growth and it’s about leadership 44:57 and we have a strong new leader back in the White House and it makes a big difference because everybody around the world is seeing that and everyone around 45:04 the country is applauding it we were on District work period last week and um Steve scis and I and our colleagues were 45:09 traveling around the country uh doing campaign events raising money doing all the things that are necessary to ensure 45:14 that we keep the House Majority uh for the Republican party and I’ll just tell you I was in multiple States over the 45:19 last week and everywhere I went Mr President people are excited there’s this great sense of relief almost 45:26 Euphoria out there because they know that America’s back this is the America First agenda we’re so grateful for these 45:32 great friends with Hyundai to invest in Louisiana we have extraordinary leadership on the state level and Leadership makes a big difference we’re 45:39 so grateful to be a part of this we want to tell you all this is a great investment in Louisiana and in America more to come thank you so much 45:47 Steve well thank you again Mr President for open up the White House to this 45:52 great group uh Governor Landry has brought the same kind of energy to the governor’s mansion in Louisiana that 45:59 President Trump has brought to the nation in the white house uh you know some people Marvel at president Trump’s 46:06 stamina uh over the weekend both Saturday and Sunday we spoke by phone on some different legislative initiatives 46:12 that we’re working on with speaker Johnson to continue moving the agenda forward those very things that President 46:18 Trump ran on he’s delivering for the American people and this announcement by Hyundai is one more example of how that 46:25 agenda that President Trump ran on to make America first again is working for the American people uh when you talk 46:31 about, 1300 plus really good jobs in in Louisiana those are all American workers 46:38 that’s billions of investment coming in from Hyundai into the United States that would not have been here without 46:44 president Trump’s leadership and I think people know that they see it it’s been a long time coming but we applaud uh the 46:50 work that Hyundai is doing with Governor Landry to come to our state but for president Trump we’re seeing this all 46:56 Across the Nation and we’re just getting started a lot more to come Mr President that’s very thank you thank 47:04 you do you have any questions please yeah please theze of the 47:09 investment partly because ofs on April 2nd the reciprocal tariffs will go into effect is is it truly reciprocal are 47:16 there some countries that might get a break or some sectors that might get a break well I may give a lot of countries breaks but it’s reciprocal but uh we 47:24 might be even nicer than that you know we’ve been very nice to a lot of countries for a long time but uh I call 47:31 it Liberation day April 2nd is Liberation day but today as you know we did something with respect to Venezuela 47:37 you heard about that and that will be uh quite important we’ll be announcing some 47:43 additional tariffs over the next few days having to do with uh automobiles 47:48 cars and having also to do a little bit with Lumber down the road Lumber and uh 47:54 chips we’re going to get all those chip companies coming back they were already coming back without even doing it so 48:00 it’s uh it’s been very good but we’ll be announcing some others but for the most part April 2nd will be a big day that’ll 48:06 be reciprocal day and we’ll be uh bringing some of the money back that’s been uh taken from us let’s be nice by 48:13 using the word taken I don’t want to use a stronger word because these guys are professional politicians and they don’t 48:18 like to hear those words I I refuse to use the word stolen from us but that’s 48:24 countries mutually bring Downs you seen that negoti oh it happened well the European Union lowered their tariffs to 48:31 2 and a half% we were only at 2 and a half% for cars which is very low and as 48:36 you probably heard that European Union lowered their number from much higher than that many many times higher 48:43 surprised to two and a half percent so that was good but uh I I don’t I don’t 48:48 know that I expect that I it’s up to them but we have reciprocal tariffs your reaction to the the story 48:55 the Atlantic that’s said that some of your top uh cabinet officials and AIDS had been discussing very sensitive 49:01 material uh through signal and included an Atlantic reporter for that what is your response to that you going take I 49:07 don’t know anything about it I’m not a big fan of the Atlantic it’s to me it’s a magazine that’s going out of business I think it’s not much of a magazine but 49:14 I know nothing about it you’re saying that they had what they they were using signal uh to coordinate on sensitive 49:21 materials and having to do with what having to do with what what were they talking about with the hotties the 49:28 hooes you mean the attack on the hooes well it couldn’t have been very effective because the attack was very 49:34 effective I can tell you that I don’t know anything about it you’re you’re telling me about it for the first time 49:39 anybody else this announcement on Monday this announcement on Monday is this a blueprint for you for other automakers 49:47 uh to come to the United States to do what Hyundai is doing and investing so much in Louisiana and creating these new 49:54 jobs absolutely it’s a nice that’s a nice question from you that’s a shocking question how nice it is huh that’s okay 50:02 that’s a a question that’s a good question actually yeah sure Hyundai is a great company and we have other great 50:09 companies coming in and we have some that are going to be staying here and very much expanding and we have a 50:15 tremendous interest in every business I can’t just say automobiles but automobiles is a big one uh and yeah 50:21 this is the beginning of a lot of things happening we’ve had uh as you know 50:27 Apple’s announced a $500 billion investment and other companies have announced 250 300 billion but we we’re 50:35 well into the three and4 trillion dollar Mark which has never happened to our country before what it really means is 50:42 jobs all we care about is jobs right we care about quality and quality of life 50:47 and Safety and Security but we care about jobs and they’re going to have a lot we have a lot of people coming in 50:56 Governor l a question if you don’t mine how did you convince Hyundai to come to your great state how did you convince 51:03 them to come to Louisiana it was easy I told him we were going to have a great president this year right look I again I 51:09 think that this is Americans seeing the American first policy and action right it’s not just promises it’s about action 51:16 and not only did and I appreciate their patience because all last year many of these legislators the speaker and the 51:22 Senate President we we worked on making Louisiana as friend for business as the 51:27 president is making America we worked on Public Safety we worked on educational reform which the president’s been working on we worked on tax reform 51:34 historic tax reform and and what I can tell you is to Echo what the president said in Louisiana right now I believe 51:40 before the Summer’s over we’ll have 50 billion worth of construction projects 51:45 going on in Louisiana that is a record Mr President it has never happened under any other president under any other 51:51 Administration and I can only look at the leadership that he has brought not only to the White House but to the world 51:57 as well and so to have um these Executives come here and say hey we want to invest in America because for decades 52:05 now what Americans have seen is jobs being offshored rather than on shored and today’s announcement is exactly that 52:12 this is a message for All America that this President and their Governors out there care about the American worker Mr 52:20 vene and I have to tell you that if you have any trouble getting permits which you won’t come see me I’ll get them for 52:26 you all right but you’re not going to have any trouble you know we had uh when I first got involved in this world of 52:32 politics when I went down to Louisiana you know the two big LNG plants and they were stuck for 14 years they tried to 52:39 get permits and these were 12 billion and I think 15 billion do plants and uh 52:45 they were working on for 14 years in one case I think 13 or 14 in the other and I 52:50 was able to get them in less than a week and they were shocked and probably some consultant got a lot of money for doing 52:57 it but nobody spoke to me about it other than this gentleman at the time he mentioned it and he did they were in 53:02 very much different positions but they wanted to see if we could break the Log Jam and I got it done in in one case I 53:08 actually got it done in one day and the other case I didn’t do as well it took a full week and they built and they’re up 53:14 and they’re very successful now that was a long time ago but we got it done immediately you’ll have no trouble 53:20 getting your permits I guarantee these people you’re dealing with at top of the line okay but just in case call me 53:27 on the Venezuela tariff that you announced earlier today sir he said it’s 25% for any country that does business 53:32 in Venezuela if they buy their oil from Venezuela they have to pay a 25% tariff 53:38 to do business with the United States is that on top of existing tariffs so for example China yes that would be a top 53:43 and if existed 45% on China next week that’s on top of existing tariffs yes 53:49 and so also next week April 2nd as you said Liberation day uh is that going to be sector tariffs as well as reciprocal 53:56 tariffs it’s going to be everything yeah it’s going to be everything but not all tariffs are included that day for instance we do some as you know we have 54:04 already done steel and aluminum and that’s at a 25% level and we are going 54:09 to be doing automobiles which you’ve known about for a long time we’ll be announcing that fairly soon uh over the 54:15 next few days probably and uh then April 2nd comes that’ll be reciprocal tariffs 54:21 but we may take less than what they’re charging because they’ve charged us so much I don’t think they could take it in 54:26 other words they’ve charged us so much that I’m embarrassed to charge them what they’ve charged us but it’ll be 54:33 substantial and you’ll be hearing about that on April 2nd and it will be Liberation day because we’ll be taking 54:38 in uh large amounts of money for our country and that’s lower taxes and all 54:44 of the things that are good and jobs a lot of jobs and what’s your message to the big corporate clients of the big law 54:49 firms that you’ve targeted with your executive orders do you want those big corporate clients to find new 54:55 lawyers uh I just think that the law firms have to behave themselves and we’ 55:00 proven that we have others that want to make a settlement also they uh having to do with the election and other things 55:07 they behave very badly very wrongly and uh I appreciate the one you know these are the biggest firms and they all came 55:14 back realizing that they did wrong and that’s why they’re doing this so I just think 55:20 they have to behave we have to straighten out our country we have to straighten out our elections our elections are very dishonest very 55:27 corrupt and we have to straighten it out and it’s so easy to do it and we should go to paper ballots we should go to one 55:33 day voting we should go to uh voter ID and just one other thing proof of a 55:39 thing called citizenship in the United States wouldn’t that be nice how simple does that sound proof of citizenship 55:45 voter ID one day voting and paper ballots you know paper ballots are very secure they have Watermark paper it’s 55:52 very actually it’s very intricate stuff it’s very uh techn techologically Advanced even though it’s paper and 55:59 you’d have no trouble you wouldn’t have dishonest elections and you’d have them all done by 10:00 in the evening you 56:05 know France went to that and uh not that I want to copy anybody but many others have also and they had uh 38 million 56:13 votes and it was all done at 10:00 they had a winner they had a loser that was it nobody was complaining and they had it backed up 56:20 with paper and it’s uh it’s so easy to do the other thing you’d save about uh 56:27 this would cost you about 8% of what the machines cost so the paper would be much 56:33 less expensive so if you’re looking to save some money uh that’s a good way to save it so it’s a shame that we’ve gone 56:39 through it we’ve gone through a bad election really bad election the election was so bad and uh think of it 56:46 you wouldn’t have had the October 7th disaster with Israel you wouldn’t have 56:51 had Russia and Ukraine because that would have never happened you wouldn’t have had inflation you would have had 56:57 the type of withdrawal from Afghanistan that you witnessed which was probably one of the primary reasons that Russia 57:03 went into Ukraine they saw that mess how badly it was handled they said wow this is a paper tiger that was handled by 57:09 incompetent people but that wouldn’t have we would have been out but we would have kept bogram the Big Air Base which 57:16 is one hour away from China where they make their nuclear weapons would have been nice to have it but now you know 57:21 who has it now China has it and so an honest election and we wouldn’t have had infl 57:26 you know you had the record setting inflation we wouldn’t have had inflation I want to thank everybody for being here 57:32 I want to congratulate Hyundai a great company and we will do everything possible and I will say you picked a 57:38 fantastic State you you’re really f with tremendous people and tremendous leaders and speaker I want to thank you for 57:45 doing a great job you and Steve thank you very much appreciate it Steve thank you very much thank you thank you 57:53 everybody viated the ESP sir thank you very much everybody if you get a briefing on that would you let us know 57:59 please thank you thank you to see
